NapMap respects copyright. If you're a rights holder and you believe a recommendation article on napmap.net uses your copyrighted work without permission, you can submit a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). We process valid notices promptly.
Before you file
- NapMap hosts recommendation articles written by independent publishers — short editorials about a source URL. We do not host the source content itself.
- If your concern is with the source URL the article links to, please contact the source site directly. We can't take down content we don't host.
- If the article quotes or paraphrases your work in a way you believe exceeds fair use, the form below is the right channel.
- Filing a knowingly false DMCA notice carries serious legal consequences, including liability for damages and attorneys' fees under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
- You must be the copyright owner or expressly authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
What happens after you submit
- We acknowledge receipt by email within 2 working days.
- We review the notice for completeness. Incomplete notices are returned with a note on what's missing.
- For valid notices, we remove or disable access to the identified URL, notify the publisher, and forward your contact information to them so they can reply or file a counter-notice.
- Repeat infringers have their accounts terminated under our repeat-infringer policy.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed in error, you can file a counter-notice. Email [email protected] with subject line DMCA counter-notice and include:
- Your full name, address, phone, and email.
- The URL that was removed and the reason you believe removal was a mistake or misidentification.
- The statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification."
- The statement: "I consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where my address is located (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district in which NapMap may be found), and I will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent."
- Your physical or electronic signature.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the original complainant. If they don't file a court action within 10–14 working days, we may restore the removed content.
