Copyright & DMCA

NapMap respects copyright. If you're a rights holder and you believe a recommendation article on napmap.net uses your copyrighted work without permission, you can submit a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). We process valid notices promptly.

Before you file

  • NapMap hosts recommendation articles written by independent publishers — short editorials about a source URL. We do not host the source content itself.
  • If your concern is with the source URL the article links to, please contact the source site directly. We can't take down content we don't host.
  • If the article quotes or paraphrases your work in a way you believe exceeds fair use, the form below is the right channel.
  • Filing a knowingly false DMCA notice carries serious legal consequences, including liability for damages and attorneys' fees under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
  • You must be the copyright owner or expressly authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

What happens after you submit

  1. We acknowledge receipt by email within 2 working days.
  2. We review the notice for completeness. Incomplete notices are returned with a note on what's missing.
  3. For valid notices, we remove or disable access to the identified URL, notify the publisher, and forward your contact information to them so they can reply or file a counter-notice.
  4. Repeat infringers have their accounts terminated under our repeat-infringer policy.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed in error, you can file a counter-notice. Email [email protected] with subject line DMCA counter-notice and include:

  • Your full name, address, phone, and email.
  • The URL that was removed and the reason you believe removal was a mistake or misidentification.
  • The statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification."
  • The statement: "I consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where my address is located (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district in which NapMap may be found), and I will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent."
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the original complainant. If they don't file a court action within 10–14 working days, we may restore the removed content.
